Why can't my students record their readings?

1. Make sure your students' microphones are enabled on their devices. 

Computers and Laptops/Chromebooks

Safari:

Safari > Settings for This Website > Microphone: Allow

Chrome:

Click on the lock icon in the address bar > Site settings > Microphone: Allow

iPads

Settings > Safari > Microphone: Allow

When using Chrome on an iPad, your students will enable the microphone within the Flow Reading Fluency application the first time they record a cold reading. 

1. Click on “Start recording.”
2. A pop-up window will appear asking to allow “flowfluency.com” to use your microphone--Click “Allow.”

1. students DO NOT close or refresh the tab or browser while recording.
2. students DO NOT close or refresh the tab or browser while his/her recording is uploading.
3. students ARE using a stable Internet connection while trying to record and/or upload. 
4. students ARE NOT using wireless Bluetooth headphones. Students should only use their devices' built-in speakers and microphones or wired headphones and microphones.
