Can I change the number of Read Alongs, Echo Reads, and Independent Reads for my students?

Yes, you can customize the number of Read Alongs, Echo Reads, and Independent Reads for your students.

Global Customization

Global customization will apply to all of your students. This setting is located in the teacher/parent profile page.

1. Click on "My Profile" in the upper right corner.
2. Click "Edit Profile."
3. Scroll down to the 3 drop-down menus.
4. Select the number of reading repetitions for each step.
5. Click "Save Changes."

Specific Customization

A specific customization will apply to individual students. This setting is located in the Student profile page.

1. Click on "Students" in the left sidebar.
2. Find a specific student and click "Edit."
3. Scroll down to the 3 drop-down menus.
4. Select the number of reading repetitions for each step.
5. Click "Save Changes."

IMPORTANT: We recommend at least 3 repetitions each of Read Alongs, Echo Reads, and Independent Reads. This number of guided and independent reading sessions is based on years of research on improving reading fluency. If students are placed correctly in the program, 3 repetitions should be the "sweet spot" for practice. Less than 3 practice sessions is typically not enough to meaningfully improve reading fluency.
